Board Design

Hi!

I need your help!! :) I was thinking on having one of my boards painted, the fish one :)

This board is a bit thicker and for summer waves... so I thought a drawing of "Obelix" (I love "Asterix and Obelix") would go well with this type of board :). I asked my friend Jozua for some painting drafts and these are the ones he sent me

Obelix Surfing :)

I kind of like this one the most! :)

Stone-board :)

This one is different, we do not have Obelix in it "per se", but it still has its "soul"...

What do you think? which do you like most? help me decide which one to have in my board!! :)

thanks a lot and have a great day!

Surferucas 2012 Resume

Hi!!

first of all THANK YOU for all your support for this first big event of the season. It is great to read all your messages with your best wishes!! :)

Now I will try to resume the festival in a few words :). We got there on Friday afternoon and the waves were looking great in Somo. We went to the water around 5pm and were surfing for two hours catching some fun waves. However, the tide came in and we decided to take a break to have something to eat and come back when the tide started to go out.

After "la merienda" we went again to the water at around 8:30pm and stayed there till it was dark!! :) the waves were really fun, no wind at all, just a few people... we had real fun! :) then it was time to rest for the big day!

Saturday morning, we arrived to the beach after breakfast and which was our dissapointment when we saw that there were almost no waves!!! :(... Many girls were getting there at the same time and everyone was talking about the same: "the small waves"... but this is it... this is what surfing has, you cannot predict how the waves are going to be till you get there. And the conditions are the same for everyone, so we all would have to deal with the small waves.

My first heat was in quarterfinals. I started a bit slow, but finally I found a wave which allowed me to do a good turn and that put me in the game again. I passed my two heats and got into the final. We had to wait till all the other categories were finished to run the final. The wind started to blow really strong and the waves were really hard to find. I caught two a bit longer than the rest and did my best on them (which was not that much...). When I finished I did not know how that was going to turn out, because it was a really tough final for everyone. We had to wait for more than 2 hours to know the answer, but the wait was worth it!!! :)

The happiest with my new skateboard!!! hehe

My trophy! :) (second time in a row!!! yuhhhuuu!!!!)

Getting energies back!! hehe :)

Resting after a hard day of cheering me up!! :) Thanks a lot Mikel for all your support!!

I would like to thank the club Surferucas and Pedro Gutiérrez for their hard work to keep having this event. Although we all know it is really hard these days, you maintain the level and make us all feel really good at this event!!! congratss!!!

Finally, I would like to thank Gilito because without him I would not be able to compete at this level. Having different boards for different conditions is a big advantage, so thankss!!!

Have a great start of the week!!! I will post more pictures if I get some from the organization! :)

Surferucas Festival!!!!

Hi everyone!! July has already started and, as the last few years, the funniest event of the year is here!! :)

The Surferucas Surf Club (the first "only women" Spanish Surf Club) with the colaboration of the FCS promote this event which is the one with the higher number of participants in Spain! (thanks again for keeping this event up!! :)).

I really like the colors of this year poster :)

There will be surf, body and longboard competitions and, of course, all the activities for everyone who want to join them (yoga, painting, skate, etc...).

Besides, it looks like we are going to have great waves in Somo this weekend!!! yuhhuuu

I am the defending champion this year!!! I know it is going to be really hard, but I will try my best to bring the trophy back home with me!! :)

Wish me good luck and have a great weekend! :)

Hey, whatsup?

First of all congrats to all the Spanish people who read this, because we are the European Champions again!!! yuuhhhuuuu!!! :)

As I told you I went to Portugal for the weekend, but got back in time yesterday to watch the game at home!! :) it was great to see all the people with Spanish flags, clothes,... I know this not help us with our problems, but seriously, it makes us a bit happier :)!

The weekend was great! :) We had waves both days, and although it was a bit windy, at some tide points the waves were actually really good! :) Here you have some pics from the weekend! :)

It is always nice to look through the window of your room for the first time and see this wonderful view!! :)

The fortress! :)

Hand-fixed :)

Hi!!!! :)

I went home for the weekend, to spend some time with my family and friends which is always great! we celebrated San Juan at the beach, making our wishes, jumping the fire and getting into the water at 00:00 o'clock! :)

But, in my free time I also tried to fix one of my old boards. I really like this board because it is the one I used when I won my first surf contest :). I broke it last year in Maldivas and I hadn't fixed it since then, however, this weekend I decided it was time to do it (or at least try to do it :)).

I love doing these things myself, but this was a hard one, it was half-way broken and I have never fixed such a whole. Anyways, I watched some youtube videos on how this can be done, asked my friend Juan (thanks for your comments and for the material) and tried my best (I didn't have time to finish it, but it is half way done now :)). At least the board looks much stronger than before :)

Take a look....

Sanding...

 Filling it with fiberglass

Now time to leave it dry... I will be back with it and show you how it ends :) hehehe :)

nice day!
